Interviews: Voltana

On this new occasion, we had the opportunity to interview the Rock band, Voltana, from Colombia. Check out the interview and follow this band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did the idea for the band’s name come from? Did you plan it or did it just happen?

Honestly, it was quite a process. We went through several name ideas. We wanted to choose one that was a single word—something that could represent the band’s essence. Something powerful, with a kind of voltage ⚡️. After several days of brainstorming possible names, we ended up choosing Voltana.

2. Why did you decide to play this genre?

Rock is a genre we’re passionate about. Since our teenage years, it’s drawn us in and made us feel part of something much bigger. It was what inspired us to learn to play instruments and to dream of having a band. If it were another genre, the passion just wouldn’t feel the same.

3. Did you know each other before forming the band?

Not really. We actually met through the internet and shared the same desire to create a project with the characteristics that define Voltana.

4. What’s each member’s favorite band?

Diego Caputo: Kraken – Colombian Rock Band.

Caam: Mägo de Oz – Spanish Heavy Metal Band.

Will: Guns and Roses

Paula: Bring me the Horizon

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Our own experiences and emotions, and our feelings in general.

6. Where was your last concert?

Our last performance was on October 11th at The Grange Bar in Bogotá, Colombia. We organized the event to celebrate the release of our latest music video, Rainy Night.

7. Where would you like to perform?

We’d love to eventually break barriers and perform in other countries—hopefully at festivals. It’s one of our biggest dreams as a band.

8. Who would you like to collaborate with?

With The Warning. They’re one of our biggest influences, and we admire them a lot.

9. Who would you not like to collaborate with?

Generally, we prefer not to participate in events promoting political figures.

10. Have any of you ever experienced stage fright? Any advice for beginners on how to overcome it?

Nerves will always be there—they’re actually trying to help us face challenges more effectively. The responsibility grows with every show, so it’s natural for them to appear. The key is to “ride” those nerves and use them to your advantage.

11. Which bands have inspired you the most?

The Warning Guns N’ Roses Maneskin Velvet Revolver

12. What’s the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

We’re not sure, haha.

13. What do you think about your fans?

We truly appreciate them. They’re a fundamental part of keeping this project alive. We’re immensely grateful for their unconditional support.

14. What do you think about our website?

It’s always great to see people who genuinely take on the mission of supporting emerging bands. We find your website and your approach as a media outlet that gives visibility to new and independent projects really interesting.

15. Anything else you’d like to add?

We want to thank you deeply for giving us this space and for keeping us in mind. We truly value the invitation and hope to be back here again. Thank you so much.
