Track By Tracks: The Balboas - Bite! Blood! Repeat! (2025)
1. Bury It With You:
Ever have that friend that you kinda don’t respect? This song delves into those emotions in a 60’s soaked, Munster-punk fashion.
2. Bones of the Baron:
This song is about Baron Samedi, the voodoo god of drinking, smoking, swearing, and fucking. He is the Patron Saint of the Balboas.
3. Papa’s Piranha:
About a person traumatized by the memories of his Dad’s piranha, and the violence he and his family were forced to watch. You know, light subject matter.
4. Florida Man:
People often wish for a simpler life. People are stupid. Florida Man visits a man’s unsuccessful attempt to live the carefree life portrayed in the memes, of a wild, free man in a crazy world.
5. Sugar Smacks (ft. Eddie Spaghetti):
This song came together very quick. It is a song about an S&M-themed donut shop, completed with the names of the donuts. Eddie Spaghetti from the Supersuckers joins in on the opening sample.
6. Petit Mort (ft. Kitten Kuroi):
The phrase Petit Mort refers to the “little death” or orgasm, and a whirlwind of breathless sex and orgasm is whipped up in this single, featuring the Grammy Award-winning Kitten Kuroi.
7. Prelude to a Problem (ft. Mike Watt):
Old school punk surf featuring Mike Watt, the godfather of punk rock, on bass.
8. Choke On It:
The instrumental on the album. The song features backing vocals from a spider monkey.
9. Muffcake:
The title stems from a conversation with Marky Ramone. The song is about a Willie Wonka stroll through a beautiful world filled with Vulva and sexual fantasy.
10. The Ghost of GoGo (ft. The 5678s):
GoGo Yubari was the teenage assassin in the Tarantino film Kill Bill. The song envisions her unearthly return, and features the 5.6.7.8’s, the all-girl Japanese surf band featured in the movie. The release is aligned with the new Tarantino director's cut of Kill Bill – The Whole Bloody Affair.
11. We Got The Blimp (ft. Jeff Hardy):
A cover of an Akron punk classic. The Balboas have ridden the Goodyear blimp a combined 15 times.
12. Der Kommissar (ft. Kitten Kuroi):
We love Austria, and Austria loves us! This cover of Falco’s 80’s hit was our love letter to our wonderful fans in Austria!
13. Bury It With You II:
The intro version of tune #1. The Balboas always bookend a record with the same song (one version vocal, one instrumental). Why? Because we want to.
