Track By Tracks: Honeybadger - Let There Be Light (2025)

1. Before The Crash:

That's a track whose lyrics are inspired by murder stories as seen on a rather old newscast, as well as in good crime movies. With an air of mystery through the guitars and bass lines, we tried to make this track both dynamic and psych.

2. Panic Button:

“Panic Button” for us lyrically is a raw, groovy outburst for troubled minds and times. Fueled by war-torn anxieties, existential pressure, and social disillusionment, the track captures the pulse of a world teetering on the edge.

Musically, we tried to take a bold step into sharper, more urgent territory. With cheeky rhythms, hooky desert rock riff,s and melodic heaviness,

“Panic Button” fuses grit and soul.
“I just found my Panic Button and you know we're going down.
Got so tired of dirty dancing ‘round you boring little pawns.”

This is not just another dark song. It could be an awakening soundtrack for anyone who's had enough — enough of manipulation, conformity, and the quiet chaos of daily life.

3. Filth And Disorder:

“Filth and Disorder” wants to seep into the veins of our social construct.

It’s a high-speed ride through a shadowy cityscape, swerving between reality and dream, diving headfirst into the corrosion of the collective mind.

In our final single before the full release of the “Let There Be Light” LP we chose to carve on nervous, heavy riffs, pulsating bass lines, decisive rhythms and a hypnotic, psychedelic finale. It’s also a declaration of contempt for fake leaders and their devoted followers.

“Leaders posing with their phony crowns
Laughing for the masses”

Caught between Filth and Disorder, we somehow call for both spiritual and physical resistance.

“Now you know you got nothing to lose
Strike ’em back again”

The question remains: will we rise and evolve, or fall and dissolve?

4. The Green:

“The Green” is an ode to the unfulfilled, to the dream we all chase. With powerful riffs and melodies, atmospheric vocals, and lyrics that speak of the search for the ideal, “The Green” captures the urge to break free from routine, leave behind limitations, shatter the chains that hold us back, and finally reach where we have always dreamed of.

"Are we going to leave? Are we going to grieve? ‘Cause we've spent all our lives, livin' the biggest lies.”

The emotional intensity of the song peaks as we intend to delve into the gap between reason and emotion, between escape and acceptance. The music, now enriched with alternative and psych-rock elements, aims to create a sonic landscape perfect for those who thirst for freedom and self-discovery.

5. Diamonds:

This song could be a bridge between the styles of our first LP, “Pleasure Delayer” and the new LP. Stronger but slower drum beats, more raw riffs and bass lines, dirtier vocals. Lyrically, it has to do with acknowledging the wealth of our souls when rising through hard times and problems.

6. The Joke Is On Me:

The lyrics of this song were inspired by everyday people who live their whole lives just to satisfy others, make them happy, and forget about their inner selves. This track is a reaction to these kinds of situations, through a set of steady and fast guitar riffs and rhythms, a rather grungy and melodic chorus, and some busy guitar solos!

7. Empty - Handed:

“Empty-Handed” is a song about the poetic despair of ending up with nothing, washed up from life. It fuses heavy desert grooves with haunting melodies, driven by thundering riffs and hypnotic rhythms. Lyrically, it's a bittersweet anthem for resilience in the face of disappointment.

“My luck could start to show, I need a heavy blow of sympathy from my gods.
Just when things start to turn, I get to crash and burn. I hide away and I wait.”

We’re trying to have the elements of fiery energy and reflective storytelling through this song, offering a track that's both powerful and painfully relatable.

8. Let There Be Light:

And in the end, we got the title track. Eerie melodies and calm lyricism on the verses, explosive outbursts, heavy rhythms, pounding bass lines, and guitar riffs for the chorus, psychedelic parts with brass for the bridge, and the outro. “Let There Be Light” is an unrelenting struggle between fear and courage, disappointment and hope, filth and dignity, darkness and light:

“We're grasping on the walls to make it right,
we're gonna make it so – let there be light.”

Let our music and lyrics haunt you and lift your spirits.
