Interviews: Dehydrated

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Death Metal band, Dehydrated, from Slovakia. Check it out!.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name? Did you plan it or came out just like that?

The name of our band came about while listening to the album "Consuming Impulse" by the band Pestilence.

I really liked the title song called Dehydrated and I decided that would be the name of our band.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

When I was 13 years old, I started playing classical guitar and listening to metal music, first heavy metal, then harder metal, and it influenced me so much that I simply wanted to have my own band.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

The founding members were bassist Palo Baca, drummer Pegas and me. I only knew them for a few months.

They played in a local band called Brutalizer. That band broke up, we became friends and put our band together.

However, since the band was founded, we have gone through many personnel changes and only I am left from the original line-up.

4. Each band member's favourite band?

We definitely all have our favourite bands, those that influenced us in the beginning but also those that came to the metal world later, to name a few: IRON MAIDEN, CARCASS, ENTOMBED, DEATH, NAPALM DEATH, KREATOR, GORGUTS, MORBID ANGEL, SEPTIC FLESH, BATHORY, CANNIBAL CORPSE, GOREFEST, DREAM THEATER..........

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

We probably take the most inspiration from music itself, which there is a lot of nowadays, many top bands and different genres, it can be classical music, film music.....it's hard to be original today, but that doesn't mean that we will speculate too much about becoming a trendy band. We still enjoy playing what we've been playing since the beginning, and the ideas we have are still in that spirit.

6. Where was your last gig?

We played our last concert on November 14th in Svitavy, Czech Republic. The German legend S.D.I also performed at this event. They were fantastic.

7. Where would you like to act?

Basically, we would like to play anywhere in the world, it doesn't matter if it's a big festival or a mini tour with a maybe famous band.

It would definitely be great to play outside of Europe, for example, in the USA, South America, Scandinavia or Japan....

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

If possible, it would be bands like CARCASS, HYPOCRISY, GORGUTS, MORBID ANGEL, MONSTROSITY, OPPROBRIUM...

9. Whom not?

So definitely not with arrogant and conceited people, they can be the biggest stars. I don't like such people, and I avoid them.

We try to be friendly and accommodating to everyone, regardless of whether someone has a different opinion on anything.

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

Definitely yes, especially when we were younger and inexperienced, but over time, it wore off, and we learned to overcome it.

I don't know the exact tip on how to handle it, everyone is different, maybe you can be relaxed, think positively and not panic if something goes wrong. First of all, look forward to and enjoy the moment you are experiencing.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

As I already mentioned, these were mainly the bands CARCASS, DEATH, ENTOMBED, CANNIBAL CORPSE, NAPALM DEATH, KREATOR, MORBID ANGEL, BATHORY, DREAM THEATER, IRON MAIDEN, GOREFEST....…

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

I don't really remember this, which was weird. But I remember when I signed a young, beautiful girl's breast, it was amazing. :-)

13. What do you think of your fans?

The fans are one of the reasons why we still function as a band, especially when we have support from them. When we can meet and talk to them, it is very pleasant and encouraging for us. We love them very much.

14. What do you think of our site?

We are very happy to be on your page. I think you are doing a great job and helping bands all over the world, for that, we deserve a compliment and a big thank you!!!

Finally, I would like to thank your website for the opportunity to present our band and greet all metal fans and, of course, metal bands all over the world. Music is the best drug in the world. You can be addicted to it your whole life, but it will never hurt you.!!!
