Behind The Tracks: Pointless - Give Me A Sign (Single) (2026)
Ahead of the release of their upcoming new EP ‘Tension for Closure’ on February
20th, Berlin-based melodic heavy rock act Pointless teases what fans can expect
with their high-octane new single ‘Give Me A Sign’!
Poıntless emerged in Berlin in 2023 as a heavy yet melodic project blending distorted
guitars, forceful drums, dual-vocal harmonies, and punky hooks with progressive edges.
Their debut single ‘What They Call Me’ marked the starting point, which then followed with a
lineup shift and a run of releases that shaped the band’s sonic identity: ‘Deadly Temptations’
(2023), ‘Rat Race’ (2024), ‘Double Time’ (2024), ‘Gears’ (2024) and the self-titled debut EP
‘pointless’ (2025).
Across this period, poıntless built a unique presence on stages in Berlin and beyond,
performing in cities including Essen, Düsseldorf, and Greifswald. Their hard-hitting sound
evolved into an impressive blend of heavy riffs, harmonic minor inflections, and tight hooks,
drawing loosely from System of a Down, Avenged Sevenfold, Alice in Chains, Turnstile, Tool, and Billy Talent, while retaining its own, distinct character.
Their upcoming EP poıntless #2 – ‘Tension for Closure’ extends this trajectory even further,
with five bold new tracks, led by the single ‘Give Me A Sign’. Written and completed
throughout the past year, it captures the project at a moment of transition and creative
consolidation. poıntless continues under the leadership of vocalist and guitarist Aaron B, who
carries the project’s core aesthetic forward.
When it comes to the creative process behind their powerful new single, AaronB reveals how
‘Give Me A Sign’ was part of the long and complicated process of creating the EP ‘Tension
for Closure’: “We critically assessed the songwriting over and over again, as the track was
created through a mix of an idea that I had and another idea by the former Co-Lead Singer
and Guitarist. We recorded everything in our producer's bedroom except for the drums, which were recorded in our rehearsal space. We went through many revisions and complex
layering, only keeping some of the content we originally intended. It was hard, but the
powerful result speaks for itself.”
As we start 2026, ‘Give Me A Sign’ establishes a monumental shift for pointless. It’s a
celebration of what’s come before, but it also shows how much they have to give. It’s going
to be a huge year for the band, and ‘Give Me A Sign’ is just the beginning!
