Behind The Tracks: Silver Dollar Room - Black Widow (Single) (2026)

'Black Widow’ was written during the sessions for the band’s second album, ‘It Can’t Rain All the Time’, in the winter of 2024/25. The music was composed with a dance-driven groove in mind, then vocals were added over the musical arrangement. After listening to the completed album, we felt Black Widow worked best as a standalone single, serving as a bridge between the album and our planned EP release in 2026.

 

The lyrics were inspired by the 1994 murder of Stuart Nicol in Aberdeenshire. His wife, Nawal Nicol, was accused of orchestrating the crime but was later acquitted. Two men were subsequently convicted of his murder.
