Track By Tracks: Dimension Of The Abandoned - Dimension Of The Abandoned (2025)
Blake explains his lyrical concepts behind the songs:
1. Journey To The Ethereal:
“Journey To The Ethereal” deals with the concept of death, falling out of consciousness, and into the unfathomable afterlife. But as you are greeted with the comfort of nothingness, you are pulled back into this realm of chaos known as existence, because you failed to see the point of existence itself. You are doomed to repeat it until you learn.
2. The Onyx Tower:
“The Onyx Tower” is a song about the shadow self, the person everyone has inside them but doesn’t want to admit is there. Every feeling of guilt, deviance, shame, and hatred, among many others are result of the shadow’s subconscious work. It is a call to recognize your shadow, but also a realization that the shadow is what drives the lust for power and greatness. A fine line must be walked so that the shadow doesn’t claim control.
3. Deimos:
“Deimos” is all about fear. Not only the fear of things we cannot change, but also the fear caused by the weight of the world encroaching on every part of our personal lives and the subconscious control it has at every waking moment. Many things we choose to do in life in the name of freedom and personal taste are in fact, the exact opposite of what our bodies and souls need for sustenance. The lack of substance grounding us to life leads to an ever-increasing anxiety and fear that boils deep within us to the point of despair and hopelessness.
4. Spires Of Flame:
“Spires of Flame” deals with the topic of addiction and the never-ending cycle you will find yourself in against that struggle. Like a bright light, addiction beckons, whispering sweet nothings while blindly uplifting until the inevitable crash and relapse that brings so much pain and frustration to the addict and their loved ones. It is such a strange sickness that affects everyone differently and is often a silent war with yourself. I conceptualized addiction as a flaming spire, something that can seem grand and beautiful from a distance, but when you are in it, it is nothing more than a flaming whirlwind that drops you from the highest point.
5. The Abandoning:
“The Abandoning” is the flip side to JTTE, and is once again a concept of death. This time, as you reincarnate, you maintain the memory of your past lives and make it your only goal to proceed beyond the mortal realm. You live your life to the best of your ability, simply being a good person and bringing light with you everywhere you go, so that others may see and learn by example and pass that on to others as well. This song is about not coming back; it is about overcoming the human condition and returning to the realm outside our dimension to become one with the universal network of consciousness once more.
6. Touch Of The Meaningless:
“Touch of The Meaningless” is a dualistic look at how, as humans, we are both completely inconsequential and inherently rulers of our world. The choices we make don’t really matter in the overarching narrative of existence, but the things we touch through our words, actions, and appearances have effects that can last forever. We are specks on a blue dot in space, and yet we are gods.
