Behind The Tracks: Sunmachine - Heart Of Gold (Single) (2026)

Writing Heart of Gold started how most of our songs do, an idea someone had in rehearsal snowballed into what is now the song, with many iterations and curveballs along the way. The track was recorded at Half Ton studio in Cambridge across a couple of days, and mastered by Chris Pavey Mastering.

 

The song is a hard-hitting, tongue-in-cheek story about the type of people who would sacrifice their morals and what they believe in to better progress themselves as a person, to the detriment of those around them. It has political undertones that touch on the concept of changing one's moral compass to fit the narrative of the day - something that is becoming all too common to see in the current state of the world we live in.
