Interviews About Albums: NIBIRU - Hypóstasis (2026)
In this new interview, we sat down with the Italian Doom Metal/Black Metal artist NIBIRU to ask questions about his album "Hypóstasis".
1. What can you say about H Y P Ó S T A S I S?
Ardat: H Y P Ó S T A S I S is a long and destabilizing journey, likely the most emotionally violent and experimental of all. Only those with the courage to abandon the carnival of worldly illusions, rising above the sensations of matter, can embark upon a path so implausibly true.
2. What is the meaning of the H Y P Ó S T A S I S name?
Ardat: H Y P Ó S T A S I S holds multiple meanings that converge into a single path of transformation. In a physical phase, it represents the post-mortem stagnation of blood; in chemistry, the underlying sediment. In the spiritual phase, it is the substance descending downwards, the psyche’s shadow, and creation taking shape. It is emotional stability, the Salt of the Sages, the Divine becoming form: the Total Man, the unique and indestructible substance.
3. Which one is the composer of the H Y P Ó S T A S I S?
Ardat: The concept, the lyrics, and the vast majority of the ideas behind H Y P Ó S T A S I S are my own work. Naturally, the unquestionable commitment of RI alongside me was fundamental, even though they left the NIBIRU path immediately after the end of the recording.
4. If you had to pick one song, which one would you pick?
Ardat: H Y P Ó S T A S I S is a physical and alchemical journey that I personally cannot view as divided. It demands the emotional stability required by every single step; in fact, the initials of each track, read in sequence, spell the word ABISSO — the Abyss. This is the path one must face.
5. Is there a special message in H Y P Ó S T A S I S? If there is what it is?
Ardat: One cannot flee from matter to seek spiritual growth in some pseudo-enlightenment; everything must become hypostasis. Psychic heaviness must settle and crystallize within one’s own flesh. Appearance must become substance.
6. Are there some lyrics that you'd love to share?
Ardat: After a brief intro, the track AZOTH begins with these words: ‘Tonight… beyond, a mark upon the heart, hollow stares, the elsewhere hidden at the edge of the mist, pain remains.’ The path is clear.
7. Which inspirations have been important for H Y P Ó S T A S I S? Like musically or friends, family, someone you'd love to thank specially?
Ardat: My only inspiration has been the inner journey that I have consistently pursued since the first works of NIBIRU—a path that will never see an end, of this I am certain.
8. Something to add?
Ardat: May the dark abyss of sleep go with you.
