Behind The Scenes: The Divine Project - Don’t Startle the Murder (Official Video)

Don’t Startle the Murder (DSTM) was the first single we released and an introduction to our REBIRTH EP. We wanted to come out swinging hard, and we felt that this song was the punch in the face everyone needed.

 

As a band, we sat down and started thinking of ideas for the story behind the music video. We knew we wanted it to be about an entity that has controlling power over everyone else. We weren’t 100% sure on how we would be able to tell this story or how to put the ideas together, so we decided to team up with Trenches Media (which made videos for bands such as The Ocean Cure, Big Wreck, and Red Handed Denial) to come up with the story.

 

Being the experts at what they do, we gave them creative control to put the storyboard together. Man, are we glad that we did.

 

The Video

 

The music video is broken into two parts: the story and the performance.

 

The focus of the performance part was to showcase the band, but also showcase (as much as possible) the high energy that you can expect from our shows. With fast, dynamic, and some up-close shots, we wanted the band members to shine so the world can be properly introduced, or reacquainted, to The Divine Project.
