“I wrote this song after losing someone very close to me. I used to study astronomy, and the formation of black holes became an obsession of mine after their passing. I found black holes as a concept were a metaphor for me, consuming myself entirely in grief. The chorus sums up that sentiment, as well as me needing to let go - "place your hand in mine, and we'll say goodbye, but don't lose hope, 'cause stars don't glow, inside black holes” “Self-mixing wasn’t the initial plan, but as we added more tracks, we felt we could best capture the image we had for it by mixing it ourselves and really taking our time with it. It was quite a stop-and-go process.”
