Interviews About Albums: Carbon Decoy - Crush The Sun (2026)

In this new interview, we sat down with the American Garage Rock/Acid Rock/Stoner Rock/Psychedelic Rock band Carbon Decoy to ask questions about their album "Crush The Sun"

1. What can you say about this new EP/CD?

This album was 5 years in the works. We feel like we found our way and found the sound we were looking for over the past 5 years, our first EP, and our first full-length. Crush the Sun takes what we have learned from all that and puts it on display.

2. What is the meaning of the EP/CD name?

Crush the Sun comes from the lyrics of the song "Icarus" and we thought it really captured the tone of the album as a whole.

3. Which one is the composer of the CD/EP?

All songs are written and performed as a band.

4. If you had to pick one song, which one would you pick?

Jared - "The Wraith"

Earl - "Castle East"

Casey - "Sirens"

5. Which inspirations have been important for this album? Like musically or friends, family, someone you'd love to thank especially?

The inspiration for this album and for this band as a whole comes from the support we receive from our friends, family, and fans. To know we are supported in pursuing something we are passionate about makes all the difference. The list of thanks we owe is so long, but we owe a special thank you to our engineer, Erik Maluchnik.
