Interviews: Shatterheart
On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Symphonic Metal band, Shatterheart, from Sweden. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.
1. Where did you get the idea for the band name? Did you plan it, or did it come out
just like that?
Hi, Johan from Shatterheart here.
It actually came from the game series “Final Fantasy.” I’m a big fan.
2. Why did you want to play this genre?
It’s a fun genre to play and listen to. We all like the epic and bombastic sound of the
symphonic elements, and we all love Hard Rock and Heavy Metal.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
I’ve known Olle and Alicke for many years prior to the formation of the band.
4. Each band member's favourite band?
Well, for Olle and for me, there’s an easy answer – Iron Maiden!
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
That’s more difficult to answer. Sometimes inspiration just hits me. Especially if I’m
out traveling and can’t pick up the guitar or so. Then I just need to try to remember
the melodies or riffs in my head. Sometimes it’s just other music that gives me
inspiration.
6. Where was your last gig?
Our first show will be in Athens in April!
7. Where would you like to act?
Everywhere possible! We would love to tour the world!
8. Whom would you like to feature with?
It would be awesome to work with Visions of Atlantis!
9. Whom not?
We have nothing against any band, so it is hard to answer that question, I am afraid.
10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on
how to beat that?
Not stage fright, but of course, you can get a bit nervous before.
I can find drinking one or max two beers before and just warm up on the guitar, a good way
to keep the nerves under control.
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
For this record, I would say Nightwish.
For my way of playing in general, I would say Iron Maiden.
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
Nothing that weird so far, to be honest! We will see what the future brings!
13. What do you think of your fans?
They are amazing, and we hope to see them all at our future shows soon!
