Track By Tracks: Nefastis - Shadows At The Light Of Dawn (2026)
ACT I: Darkness:
1. Cosmic Silence at the Edge of the New World:
2. Shadow Spell:
The opening suite, driven by an intense piano and sweeping orchestral arrangements, sets an atmosphere of deep anguish. The piece tells the story of survivors of a nuclear holocaust and the spirits that accompany them on their journey
3. Seduced by the Beauty of the Darkness:
This track is much darker and characterised by strong black metal influences and a surprising progressive rock-style synthesiser solo. It tells the story of a person who is gradually possessed, drawn into a disturbing dialogue with the spirit that dominates them.
ACT II: Dusk
4. Absence of Illumination:
5. Tears of the Past:
Another suite opens the second act, starting with a bass solo that evolves into a thrash-oriented track.
6. Vortex of Light:
An intense and aggressive track, featuring energetic and melodic thrash-death riffs, while maintaining a strong symphonic presence.
ACT III: Alone
7. Lights of Dawn:
8. Alone Again:
The third act opens with a darker, more progressive atmosphere. A synthesizer introduction leads into a long and intricate composition that begins with classical guitars before developing into intense and engaging riffs.
9. Stardust:
The most thrash-driven and straightforward track on the album – melodic yet fierce, it strikes with precision and speed.
ACT IV: Decadence
10. Blackened Vision:
11. Collapsing Dream:
The act opens with an instrumental piano suite, a prelude to the most emotional and intimate track on the album – eight minutes of progressive music filled with haunting melodies and powerful emotional depth
12. Flowers Swept Away by the Autumn:
The closing track, highly progressive and deliberately deconstructed, surprises the listener with the use of synthesizers and female vocals.
