Track By Tracks: White Tundra - Stories From The Dark (2026)

1. Healer:

Healer is about fraud, hypocrisy, and all the madness, war, and suffering forced by religion.

It was one of the first ideas Kjell brought into the band, and the groove and feel felt right immediately. With some nice hooks and a catchy chorus, it was a natural choice as the first single.

2. Huset:

(eng: The House) Portrayed as an old, abandoned house placed in a windswept, dark, and cold valley, the lyrics represent both an homage to our forefathers and a reminder of learning from history to avoid making the same mistakes over again. Unfortunately, we are doing just that.

The mid-section of this song might contain the best riff of the album…

3. Riderless Horse:

Ola started working on the lyrics for this one many years ago without finishing them. Having been put aside for a while, Kjell came up with the idea for a song where the chorus fitted perfectly to the "Riderless Horse" lyrics. After that, the song finished quite fast.

We spent some time creating some scary sounds for the intro for this one in the studio, which ended up really cool. Maybe you will know what happened with the rider of the horse after you have heard the song?

4. Kultarberget:

The verb "Ã¥ kulte" is a dialectical word for lying and exaggerating for effect, so it can be translated to "The lying rock". Written as kind of a joke about this small place where Ola grew up, called Kultarberget, and the stories told there, it`s also a big middle finger to all the fake news, alternative facts, and lying politicians around us. We all liked the chorus on this one, so we thought it would fit well as a second single.

5. The Lake:

The Lake is where you want to go those days when nothing goes your way, and you are tired of everything and everyone. We all need a safe space, and we are taking you with us to The Lake, where you can enjoy the scenery while the world goes to hell. We did explore some different vocal melodies on this one, and think it ended up quite nice!

6. White Tundra:

This song is about us. We tried to capture everything that we are musically into in this song. The lyrics take you from the desert, where our main influence - the desert stoner scene - is, up to the cold, windy White Tundra up here in the north. This might be the song we spent the most time on before we were all satisfied. But it ended up as the epic album end we wanted. We are really looking forward to playing this one live!
