Behind The Artworks: Among Legends - Lose My Grip (2026)

We had a lot of discussions about how to approach the artwork for this album - it took a while to figure out. Our first record featured some really amazing illustrations by a local artist - and we loved how everything turned out - but we decided we wanted to try something a little more photorealistic this time to match the more serious tone of LP #2. We knew we wanted to represent the album title - Lose My Grip - in the photos we took, but couldn't quite figure out how to do that with the resources we had on hand. It was important to capture the emotional fallout of losing grip on a situation, more so than physically losing your grip on something, so we toyed around with a few ideas: smashing car windows, breaking light fixtures, taking photos in a rage room, that sort of thing. Eventually, we settled on flipping a fully set table and shooting the aftermath - we liked the contrast of bringing an indoor setting outside, and it seemed feasible for us to photograph on our own. We were super fortunate to have our good friend Syd help us with the photo shoot - not only did she provide the space for us to make a big mess on her property, but she agreed to be our table flipper, and she absolutely killed it. Mitchell took all of the photos, and after two flipping attempts, we had what we needed. It was a really fun day - exploring the woods on Syd's property, finding the best location to set up, and then watching her absolutely demolish all of the cups and bowls we had purchased at a thrift store a few days earlier. Huge thanks to Syd for going along with our crazy plan - we're so happy with how the photos turned out, and she really made the whole endeavour possible.
