Interviews About Albums: Awaken The Dead - Awaken The Dead (2026)
In this new interview, we sat down with the American Thrash Metal/Death Metal project Awaken The Dead to ask questions about their album, "Awaken The Dead".
1. What can you say about this new EP/CD?
This is a solo project of mine, something that I’ve been talking about doing for a decade. I started doing the riffs for this album 3 months prior. I had titles laid out and most lyrics, but as time went by, I kept changing lyrics or song titles. The vocals weren’t even planned. I was going to do a solo instrumental originally, but things kept progressing over time.
2. What is the meaning of the EP/CD name?
AwakenTheDead is my project name and as well self titled there wasn’t much of meaning behind it how ever watching a Slayer concert on YouTube and scrolling through the comments and someone mentioned That during Jeff’s solos that it was enough to awaken the dead so it was instant as far the art goes well I love comic books and any thing horror related the inner art work of the Vulture with the roadkill wasn’t planned I was outside my drive way and spotted it so I took a picture on my phone didn’t think I was going to use it in anyway.
3. Which one is the composer of the CD/EP?
I am as well the lyrics and the guitar parts. I hired a studio drummer as well to mix, and then I hired someone to master the final product.
4. If you had to pick one song, which one would you pick?
That’s a tough one, but I’d have to say, Killer.44 about the sons of Sam
5. Is there a special message in this EP/CD? If there is what it is?
Not really, other than if you feel inspired and want to do something, do it fuck the haters because they don’t have the balls to do it.
6. Are there some lyrics that you'd love to share?
Yes killer.44 once again about the sons of Sam from the 1970s in NewYork David Berkowitz was the one behind it. Bathing in Blood was an inspiration for Richard Ramirez, the night stalker, on how he would kill his victims
7. Which inspirations have been important for this album?
Well, the big 4 is the biggest one, always been a thrash guy; death metal came later, like cannibal corpse, Autopsy, Aborted, Obituary, Deicide. I can go on and on
8. Something to add?
I hope everyone will sincerely enjoy this, and maybe over Time I will write more music.
