Interviews: Decibel Dogs

On this new occasion, we had the opportunity to interview the Heavy Metal/Hard Rock band Decibel Dogs from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name? Did you plan it, or did it just come out?

We didn’t name the band until we thought of one that fit. We are loud, hungry, and aggressive like angry dogs, thus Decibel Dogs.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Hard rock/Heavy Metal is the only genre any of us would ever want to play. 

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Ryan, Donnie, and Joe knew each other for years, playing the local circuit here in Clearwater, Florida. Lou moved to Florida a few years ago and started talking to Joe, who played in Jon Oliva’s Pain a few years back, about forming something. Ryan saw an old video of Lou and inquired about possibly jamming. Donnie was the final piece to the puzzle. 

4. Each band member’s favorite band?

We all love everything from Sabbath to Slayer. 

5. Who or what inspired you to write songs?

We write about life‘s ups and downs. The good, the bad, and the ugly. 

6. Where was your last gig?

Stet’s Bar in Fort Myers, Florida, is one of our favorite places to play. It’s owned by Stet Howland Drummer/extraordinaire. Stet has been in W.A.S.P, Metal Church, and a bunch of other great bands. He has played with everyone. We’ll be back there for his birthday bash on August 14. 

7. Where would you like to act?

We don’t act, we ROCK! 

8. Whom would you like to feature with you?

We are OK just being us.

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginnings of how to beat that?

Stage fright and stage concern are two different things. So being concerned about equipment, timing, volume, etc., is natural. However, if you are afraid to be in front of a crowd performing, then you are in the wrong business. 

11. What bands have inspired you most?

Again, Sabbath to Slayer. Kiss to Zeppelin and everything in between. 

12. What’s the weirdest thing of fans ever asked you for?

No comment ha ha. 

13. What do you think of your fans?

We love Decibel Dog fans and all heavy metal/ hard rock fans around the world. 

14. What do you think of our site?

We love the site. Keep up the good work!! 

15. Something to add?

It’s very important to support new Hard Rock/Heavy Metal, otherwise, someday there will be no Hard Rock or Heavy Metal. Go, get out there and see local bands and support your friends' bands. Stream and download their songs. Embrace the new music! Decibel Dogs hope to see you down the road!!
