Behind The Artworks: Macalla - Ghosts (2026)

The artwork for Ghosts began as a photograph of William and Chloe (see attached) from the band before being heavily edited and transformed into the haunting final image. Rather than depicting the band themselves, the artwork uses their likenesses as the foundation for something more symbolic, representing the emotional weight, fractured identity, and lingering ghosts explored throughout the EP. The dark, muted palette reflects the record's themes of trauma, grief, and self-reflection, while subtle contrasts of light hint that hope can still exist even in the darkest moments. Much like the music itself, the artwork balances beauty with discomfort, shifting between vulnerability and intensity.
