Interviews About Albums: REDVI - Pigs (2026)

In this new interview, we sat down with the Iranian Deathcore band REDVI to ask questions about their album, "Pigs".

1. What can you say about this new EP/CD?

Pigs is our most complete work so far. It's six songs connected by themes of violence, isolation, spiritual decay, cosmic horror, and humanity's evolution—from hunter-gatherers to becoming the apex of the known world. Every track explores a different aspect of that journey while still feeling like part of the same universe.
The EP was written and produced in Tehran, Iran, during a period of war and uncertainty. Those circumstances inevitably shaped the atmosphere of the record.

2. What is the meaning of the EP/CD name?

Pigs isn't about one specific person or group. It's a symbol of betrayal, corruption, blind hatred, and the ugliest parts of human nature. The title track represents that rage directly, while the rest of the EP explores different consequences of those same flaws—from losing faith to complete annihilation.

3. Which one is the composer of the CD/EP?

The music was composed by me, Haman, and our lead guitarist, Aydin, while the lyrics were written by aryan. Every member contributed to shaping the final arrangements and making the songs what they are.

4. If you had to pick one song, which one would you pick?

Probably a Distress Call.

On the surface, it's about a lone scout drifting through deep space, sending signals that never receive an answer, while something unknown slowly begins answering instead.

But there's another layer to it. During the internet blackouts in Iran in 2026, communication itself became uncertain. Messages disappeared, connections were lost, and silence became something people genuinely experienced. We never mention those events directly in the lyrics, but they influenced the feeling behind the song. That sense of isolation became the foundation for the story before it expanded into cosmic horror.

5. Is there a special message in this EP/CD? If there is, what is it?

Rather than delivering a single message, Pigs asks questions.

How does humanity react when faith fails? What happens when we're completely isolated? What are we capable of when survival is all that's left?

The EP reflects different parts of the human condition—from our worst instincts to our endless desire to evolve beyond our limitations. As a species, in order to survive, we have to become the Apex of the universe.

6. Are there some lyrics that you'd love to share?

From Distress Call:

"I am the signal no mind can read,
A living trap, a harbored need.
No salvation breaks through,
I stay forever,
While the next soul becomes you."

Those lines capture the feeling of becoming part of the horror you've been trying to escape.

7. Which inspirations have been important for this album? Like musically or friends, family, someone you'd love to thank especially?

Musically, we grew up listening to modern deathcore, black metal, and the crushing atmosphere of thall. Those styles naturally shape how we write, but we never try to imitate anyone. We're more interested in building our own identity through heavy grooves, unsettling atmospheres, and conceptual storytelling.

We'd also like to thank everyone who has supported REDVI from inside and outside Iran. Creating and releasing extreme metal here isn't always easy, so every listener, promoter, playlist curator, magazine, and friend who shares our music genuinely helps us keep moving forward.

8. Something to add?

We're incredibly grateful to everyone who gives independent bands a chance. Thank you to Breathing The Core for the interview and to everyone who spends time listening to Pigs.

This EP is another chapter in the REDVI universe. There's much more to come, and we're only getting started. RED VI. Humanity's Sixth Revolution. Become the Apex.
