Interviews About Albums: The Rorts - Big Decisions (2026)

In this new interview, we sat down with the Australian Punk Rock/Rock'N' Roll band The Rorts to ask questions about their album, "Big Decisions".

1. What can you say about this new EP/CD?

This is our debut Ep which we are pretty proud of, sounds great, and is an excellent representation of us and how we sound live.

2. What is the meaning of the EP/CD name?

"Big Decisions" is the title track of the EP. Mostly about the choices we are all faced with as adults and parents, etc.

3. Which one is the composer of the CD/EP?

Dale Trickett - Track 1,2 and 4.

Simon Baird - Track 3. Arranged by all 3 of us.

4. If you had to pick one song, which one would you pick?

As much as our single "Big Decisions" is getting good coverage, I love our B-Side "Timing is Everything". A little bit of punk, rocknroll and pop in it.

5. Is there a special message in this EP/CD? If there is what it is?

No special messages, what you hear is what you get. Pretty straightforward.

6. Are there some lyrics that you'd love to share?

"Timing is Everything" has some interesting concepts about Social Media. Here's an excerpt: "Don't tell me what I need to know, the dumb shit I see on my phone, like I've no thoughts of my own"

7. Which inspirations have been important for this album? Like musically or friends, family, someone you'd love to thank especially?

No shame to say, we are inspired by 90's pub rock, but generally anything that is well-written musically with catchy hooks and a big sound.

8. Something to add?

Although we've all dabbled in music and bands over the years, it's been great to collaborate together after many years to create something we are all pretty damn excited about.
