Interviews About Albums: Serpent Circle - The Eternal Instant (2026)
In this new interview, we sat down with the Italian Heavy Metal band Serpent Circle to ask questions about their album, "The Eternal Instant".
1. What can you say about this new EP/CD?
This album is the result of a very long creative process that developed over several years and
reached its final form with the current line-up, featuring Rocco on drums and Giuseppe on vocals.
Because it was created over such an extended period of time, the songs are quite different from
each other, as they reflect different intentions, motivations, and needs that emerged during the
various moments of the band’s journey. We like to think of The Eternal Instant as a photograph of
a specific moment in the life of the band: a way to capture and preserve that precise instant
forever. The sounds are the continuous thread that connects the entire record — power, aggression,
and melody are the elements that unite and define the songs, even though each one has its own
identity.
2. What is the meaning of the EP/CD name?
As mentioned before, the Eternal Instant represents the photograph of a specific moment in the
band’s existence. We wanted to transform what was happening to us at that precise time as a band
into music, making it something defined and eternal — an eternal instant, indeed. This concept is
also strongly connected to the symbol of our band: the Ouroboros, the snake biting its own tail. It
represents eternal return and cyclicity, a figure that challenges the physical concept of time as we
know it.
3. Which one is the composer of the CD/EP?
The album was mainly composed by Mara, Antonio, and Donato. Later, with the arrival of Rocco
on drums and Giuseppe on vocals, it found its definitive form. Songs such as Break This Silence,
The Abyss, and Silent Scream were among the first tracks written and date back to the previous
line-up, while the remaining songs — especially 17 and Serpent Circle ( started from a
composition by Rocco and were then jointly arranged by the whole band ) represent the
expressions that best describe us today. They follow a less linear and more experimental
compositional path. This is a collective work in which every member contributed their own
personality, character, and artistic vision.
4. If you had to pick one song, which one would you pick?
We could not choose just one song because we are deeply attached to all of them. However, if we
really had to choose one, we would pick Break This Silence. It was the first single released from
The Eternal Instant, and we feel especially connected to it because it was the very first song we
composed. It reflects a particular urgency: the need to make ourselves heard again, to start creating
music once more. At the same time, it is an invitation to the world not to become accustomed to
ugliness and to everything that suffocates human beings, but instead to become an active part of a
revolution that puts humanity first.
5. Is there a special message in this EP/CD?
If there is, what is it? The EP begins with Break This Silence, which is an invitation to rebellion
and to becoming aware of our own potential to achieve the best version of ourselves as human
beings. This concept is explored through different perspectives and emotions throughout almost all
the other songs on the record.
6. Are there some lyrics that you’d love to share?
“I am the light in everyone’s eyes, I am the thunder roaring in the night. Please hear me out, my
silent scream.” This chorus from Silent Scream is probably one of the strongest and most direct
messages on the album. The lyrics feel like a speech delivered by Truth or Justice in front of the
entire world. They are hidden, ignored, and disregarded, even though they are actually right before
everyone’s eyes — as a form of light and as thunder roaring in the night.
7. Which inspirations have been important for this album? Like musically, friends, family, or someone you’d love to thank especially?
Our musical
inspirations are very different from one another. Each member has their own tastes and influences,
sometimes even very distant from each other, but the beautiful thing is that we always manage to
find common ground in heavy metal. This album would certainly not have been possible without
the precious support of many friends. We would especially like to thank Gianfranco Belisario from
Metal Zone Italia for taking care of the physical production of the album and for believing in us as an emergent band. We also want to give a special thanks to Francesco Gallina, our press agent, who
has worked hard to spread the name of Serpent Circle and help our music reach listeners
everywhere.
8. Something to add?
We would like to thank you for giving us the opportunity to tell our story and to help people better
understand what Serpent Circle truly represents. We would like to end with our motto, which is
also the ultimate expression of our music. “Serpent Circle doesn’t want to reinvent metal, Serpent
Circle wants to remind why it is still alive.”
