Interviews: Goroda

On this new occasion, we had the opportunity to interview the Hard Rock band, Goroda, from Russia. Check out the interview, enjoy the band.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name? Did you plan it, or did it come out just like that?

It came about naturally. The name symbolizes everyone in the band coming together as one family. GORODA means “Cities,” because we’re all from different cities. The name represents what brought us all together into one family.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

The music we listened to growing up had a huge impact on us. This genre helped us keep moving forward, dream bigger, and inspired us to create our own music.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Yes, we knew each other before the band was formed, but everything happened very spontaneously. You could say GORODA was created in an instant. Oleg and Vova had known each other for a long time. Fun fact: when they first met, Oleg introduced Vova to the band Saliva. =)

4. Each band member's favorite band?

Three Days Grace, Evanescence, Saliva, Slipknot, Architects, and Bring Me The Horizon.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Everything around us inspires us: what we see, what we hear, people, nature, emotions, personal experiences, and life’s challenges.

6. Where was your last gig?

Our last show hasn’t happened yet; it’s still ahead of us. =) But if we were talking about our dream “last” show, it would be incredible to play in the Nevada desert for 200,000 people.

7. Where would you like to act?

We dream of playing at the huge rock festivals.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Three Days Grace. We’d love to tour with them.

9. Whom not?

Justin Bieber

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

Of course. Very first show. We all felt it. Our advice is simple: practice every single day. The goal is to build enough muscle memory so that when you’re on stage, everything becomes automatic: playing, moving, and communicating.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

AC/DC, Avril Lavigne, Pantera, Sum 41, and Blink-182.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

To confess in love from the stage.

13. What do you think of your fans?

They’re highly intelligent, well-educated, and respectable people… Well, they could have all those qualities if they didn’t listen to GORODA.

14. What do you think of our site?

Breathing the Core is a great way to immerse yourself in the “crazy” world of rock music. It’s genuinely an incredible opportunity to learn about amazing, driven people with different backgrounds and perspectives, but who are all united by the same passion for music.

15. Something to add?

Our collaboration with Saliva and our work with the label prove once again that believing in yourself and your dreams can take you exactly where you want to be. Never be afraid to dream. Keep creating, keep pushing forward, and eventually the world will bend in your favor.
