Interviews: Incorporeo
On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Metalcore band Incorporeo from Chile. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.
1. Where did you get the idea for the band name? Did you plan it, or did it just come out like that?
The idea was brought by our singer (Mario), who had been thinking about using it for a long time.
At the time, the rest of the members had no repairs on it, and we all went with it.
2. Why did you want to play this genre?
Most of the members grew up listening to the early 2000s metalcore and hardcore bands. The guitar players learned their instruments, basically learning how to play KSE, AILD, and Unearth songs. All the members have a broad taste in music, but metalcore was the most natural way to go.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
The three founding members came together thanks to Miguel (guitar), who was childhood friends with Mario (vocals), and later met Claudio (guitar) in college. Eduardo (bass) started as the band's photographer and later became a good friend of the band. He was considered a member of the band way before becoming the bass player, and in a time when we needed a bass player, it was only natural to invite him since he was already (unofficially) part of the band. Miguel (drums, yes, there are two Miguels in the band) reached out when we were looking for a drummer. After trying out a few drummers, the first rehearsal with Miguel, we all instantly bonded musically and personally.
4. Each band member's favourite band?
Mario (Vocals): Gojira
Miguel (guitar): Heaven Shall Burn
Claudio (Guitar): Parkway Drive
Eduardo (Bass): Deftones
Miguel (Drumes): Periphery
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
Musically, we like to write music that might be fun to play live. Music that could have somewhat of a technical sound, but still let us have fun on stage.
Lyric-wise, we touch on views of life, ups and downs, hardships, and overcoming them. Mario (vocals) is responsible for all the lyrics, and they are very personal to him.
6. Where was your last gig?
Our last gig was in our home city, Santiago, Chile, before the pandemic.
7. Where would you like to act?
For our comeback, we are hoping to play more shows in our city, opening for international bands, and playing shows throughout our country.
8. Whom would you like to feature with?
We've never thought about that really, we feel so small that basically anyone in the metal/hardcore world will do for us. Anyone would be a dream.
9. Whom not?
Katy Perry.
10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?
Not really, you always kinda get nervous, we think it's a natural part of standing in front of an audience in any sort of situation.
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
We guess that the most that inspired us in writing music might be Parkway Drive and KSE.
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
Still, nothing weird has been asked of us.
13. What do you think of your fans?
Our fan base is pretty small, but still, we had someone learn our songs on guitar. That is actually really cool, and we love him for that.
14. What do you think of our site?
We think it's pretty awesome what your site offers. We really appreciate the chance of being published outside of our country. Your site has let us find new bands, and that's pretty rad.
15. Something to add?
We are Incorporeo from Santiago, Chile (South America), and we hope anyone who reads this interview likes our music. Hopefully, we will see you someday! Much love and respect!
