Interviews: Killer Smile
On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Alternative Rock band Killer Smile from Scotland. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.
1. Where did you get the idea for the band name? Did you plan it or did it come out just like that?
Band Name - Actually, it came from a song we had written years ago ( which we might release), and the line says, you put on your Killer Smile, and I take a breath. We were not always called Killer Smile but reformed in 2024, and we agreed this was a Killer Name haha.
2. Why did you want to play this genre?
We evolved into this genre, with some calling us emotive rock, which I can absolutely agree with; we are not hard rock; we are not overly pop but something in the middle.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
No, we met when I put an ad up in a rehearsal studio, vocalist looking to join a band. This was many, many years ago and the best decision I ever made.
4. Each band member's favourite band?
Gill Vocals - Right Now - Nothing but Thieves
Neil Guitarist - Police
Iain Bass - Iron Maiden
Crof Drums - Pink Floyd
Trish Backing vocals - Madonna
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
Life inspires me to write the songs I do, taking facts with fiction mixed in. The music usually forms the mood I write, and a lot of the time the music comes first. But not always.
6. Where was your last gig?
Audio Glasgow - for B12 entertainment.
7. Where would you like to act?
The Barrowland Ballroom would be the ultimate gig for us; it's on my manifestation list.
8. Whom would you like to feature with?
I would say Nothing But Thieves; Neil would say Sting/Police.
9. Whom not?
I would happily share the stage with any band
10. Has any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?
Yes, nerves are natural. I take some time before going on stage to get myself into the right frame of mind and do breathing exercises. Remember that the people there to see you want to be there, and they are just normal people like you; it's not about judgement, it's about having fun with your band, performing the best that you can.
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
Older Bands / Artists Like Fleetwood Mac, Police, Stereophonics, Metallica, Evanescence.
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
Lucky enough, nothing weird has been requested YET !!
13. What do you think of your fans?
Our fans are the most loyal and very supportive, following our journey at each stage of our mission to get to the ears of many.
14. What do you think of our site?
I think your site is incredibly valuable for helping support independent and undiscovered music around the world, providing a platform for bands like us to express our art and be seen, and a massive support to and for the music community.
