Behind The Artworks: Amongst Liars - Underneath The Surface (2026)

For the artwork accompanying the new release, Amongst Liars turned to artist Aaron (October_Midnight), whose striking visual interpretation proved to be a perfect match for the song’s themes and lyrics.

Aaron describes the piece as capturing “the collision of cosmic entropy and self-reconstruction”, portraying a fractured and chaotic existence among the stars, contrasted with the vibrancy, meaning and possibility found within our own existence.

For vocalist Leo, that connection between the artwork and the music was immediate: “I felt this fitted perfectly to the lyrics of the song that I wrote and the theme surrounding it.”

The collaboration also continues an existing relationship between the band and Aaron. He previously created the artwork for Amongst Liars’ Repair Myself release, making him a natural choice for this project.

“We really love his work,” Leo explains, adding that Aaron’s latest piece “actually fits the song perfectly.”

The resulting artwork reflects the central ideas running through the release — chaos, fragmentation, existence and the process of rebuilding — giving the music a visual identity that feels both expansive and deeply personal.
