Behind The Artworks: Xavier Boscher - Shapeshifter (2028)

When I painted this cover artwork in acrylic — the original sits on a 20 x 20 cm canvas — I was aiming to create an original stellar landscape. The green gradients came together very quickly, and I knew I wanted a figure in it: a kind of fully chromed alien. I think, subconsciously, Satriani's "Surfing with the Alien" cover influenced me.

This painting needed to evoke a galaxy, a nebula, a telluric and supersonic journey all at once — something visually completely new. I wanted it to feel flashy and futuristic while still carrying the mark of a hand-painted work. In the age of AI, I'm glad to offer a cover that's 100% human-made.

I think it perfectly captures the spirit of the album's tracks, from the hyper-modern "Hypermnestra" to the deeply fusion "Vagina is a Pink Cathedral." I hope this cover makes listeners want to discover the album.
