Behind The Tracks: Native Son - Dead Man Walking (Single) (2026)
At its heart, Dead Man Walking is a song about transformation. Following a failed relationship, its central character encounters someone who becomes his Muse, inspiring him to find a new direction and create through words and music.
The idea of the Muse also runs through the single's artwork, which takes inspiration from Gustave Moreau's 1891 painting Hesiod and the Muse. Elements of the original painting, including the flowers, Parthenon, and bright star, have been brought into a contemporary setting, connecting the band's own story with the idea of artistic inspiration.
