In this new interview, we sat down with the Brazilian-born, Portugal-based Stoner Metal/Doom Metal/Groove Metal band The Red Crow to ask questions about their album, "It's Alive".

1. What can you say about this new EP/CD?

Christiano Vieira: It’s Alive is basically proof that we can survive playing at absurd volumes without a safety net! It’s a completely raw, unfiltered snapshot of The Red Crow doing what we do best: sweating on stage, cranking tube amps to the verge of explosion, and letting the fuzz swallow the room. We deliberately skipped the sterile studio fixes, autotune, and polite digital edits. What you hear is pure room noise, raw feedback, heavy grooves, and human adrenaline. If your walls aren't shaking, you're not listening to it right!

2. What is the meaning of the EP/CD name?

Christiano Vieira: First, it’s our dramatic Frankenstein moment—screaming "It’s Alive!" as this loud, fuzzy monster comes roaring out of the speakers to terrorize the neighborhood. Second, it’s a friendly reminder that actual human beings were in a room making all that noise in real time, flaws and all. In a world full of over-sanitized, robotic playlists, our monster is breathing, loud, and kicking!

3. Which one is the composer of the CD/EP?

Christiano Vieira: I (Christiano Vieira) handle the songwriting, guitar riffs, and vocals, which usually starts with me finding a fuzz tone heavy enough to rattle my own teeth. But on this live EP, the songs truly belong to the stage chemistry—the band takes those heavy riffs and turns them into a runaway freight train that somehow stays on the tracks.

4. If you had to pick one song, which one would you pick?

Christiano Vieira: It’s impossible to pick just one without mentioning the dynamic duo of bad life choices! First, "The River", which is our heavy sonic soundtrack to the absolute cosmic rollercoaster of the first time I drank Ayahuasca. And naturally, you can't have the mystical trip without the brutal aftermath, which brings us to "Sunday Zombie"—a song dedicated entirely to the apocalyptic, brain-melting hangover I had to survive the very next day. Playing those two live back-to-back is basically re-living spiritual enlightenment and physical devastation all within ten minutes!

5. Is there a special message in this EP/CD? If there is, what is it?

Christiano Vieira: The main message is simple: put down your phone, grab a cold beer, get into a dark, loud, sweaty club, and let heavy music purge your stress. It’s Alive isn't trying to give you a lecture on world peace; it’s an open invitation to embrace the fun, therapeutic madness of heavy riffs, screaming guitars, and shared volume.

6. Are there some lyrics that you'd love to share?

Christiano Vieira: I’d love to quote a piece from "Haunted", which dives straight into that classic, over-the-top dark horror vibe we love:

"Between shadows I find a way

A way to finally kill you

That missing mist that fills up the air

Will only try to confuse you

But I can't find, find a way

And you can't hide, hide from me!

This haunted nightmare won't have an end

Until you reborn again

Laying dead with cold breath inside

Is when the fun will begin"

It’s dark, theatrical, and a total blast to scream at the top of my lungs live while the amps are shaking the venue. Because really, what’s a good heavy rock song without a little fun with ghosts, nightmares, and impending doom?

7. Which inspirations have been important for this album? Like musically or friends, family, someone you'd love to thank specially?

Christiano Vieira: Musically, blame the heavy gods: the monolithic riffs of Black Sabbath, the crushing weight of Crowbar and Eyehategod, the desert fuzz of Kyuss, the gritty melodies of 90s Grunge (Alice in Chains, Mudhoney, Nirvana), and the pure rebellious kick of 80s punk (Os Replicantes, Ratos de Porão, Sex Pistols).

We owe huge thanks to our families and friends for tolerating endless loud rehearsals, our sound engineers for not quitting on the spot when we max out the volume, and every single legend who buys merch, comes to our shows, and drinks a beer with us. A very special shoutout to every venue owner brave enough to let us shake the dust off their ceilings!
