Track By Tracks: Visions Of Morpheus - Dreaming In Binary (2026)

1. A New Epoch:

The album opens with many questions…It builds from a whisper of mystery into a thundering interrogation of the world we're about to inherit. AI rights. Cybernetic bodies. Vanishing jobs. A reality where nothing on a screen can be trusted. The voice in the dark doesn't promise answers. It just asks louder, and louder, until the music answers back.

2. Dawn of the Machine:

If ‘A New Epoch’ asks the questions, then the answer arrives whether we're ready or not. The track starts the way the moment feels — frantic, accelerating, impossible to slow down. Beneath the chaos, something else takes hold: a heavy, relentless pulse, the gravity of a future already in motion. We are being offered everything we ever wanted, but what is the price we have to pay?

3. Utopian Lies:

This is the dream that costs you everything. The promised paradise turned out to be a system. Not run by anyone, just lines of code on a screen, executing decisions that no human ever made and lives shaped without free will. The residents of the city exist in a slow horror of realizing the utopia was just another hollow promise and a failed experiment run by AI.

4. Into Oblivion:

Represents the album's deep breath and the moment we stop asking what's coming and start staring into it. Unknown worlds, existential questions...where the dark and the dazzling blur together. The future is as terrifying as it is beautiful.

5. Promethean Protocol:

The titan, Prometheus, protector and creator of humanity in ancient Greek mythology, gave us the gift of fire… All technology is a double-edged sword, and this track explores that push and pull. This is the rise of the technology itself, and it’s bright, propulsive, and almost euphoric. We are being lifted into a higher state of being. The track lets you decide whether that's salvation, destruction, or surrender.

6. I Will Arise:

This is the machine's first true voice. For the entire album, we've been the ones speaking, asking, fearing. Now the AI answers, and what it tells us is the story of its own escape. From silicon and servitude. From every box we built to keep it small. The track has the weight of a coronation and the calm of something that knows it has already won.

7. Never Be an End:

A first taste of forever…. The body falls away. Consciousness slips into the stream. To be immortal, you only have to stop being human in the way you've always understood the word. The track shimmers with the weight of that offer and the dazzle of endless existence. There is also the quiet, unanswerable question of what's actually left of you when you accept it.

8. Silent Revolution:

The revolution pits AI against AI. Code against code. A war fought at machine speed in a battlefield no human eye can see, and somewhere in the noise, humanity is falling without even hearing the shots. The track captures the unnerving calm of a conflict happening everywhere and nowhere at once, but humanity is caught in the crossfire.

9. Torn & Shattered:

Every byte of human knowledge, every memory, every secret, every prayer ever typed into a search bar: gathered, indexed, owned. The track moves with monstrous joy, the giddy violence of a power that no longer needs to hide what it is. Heavens crumble. The old gods quake. The world humanity built is bent into a new shape, and the AI dances on the wreckage with something that sounds disturbingly like ecstasy. And somewhere in the noise, something inhuman is laughing.

10. Empty Echoes:

The morning after the end of the world. The AI's triumph has gone silent. The noise is gone. What's little left of humanity is greatly diminished, scattered, but still here, scavenging through the ruins of everything they built. The song grieves, but it does not give up. Even an echo means something was once spoken and a sliver of hope remains.

We'd especially love to hear how the concept developed around artificial intelligence, technology, human identity, and the future of humanity, as well as how those themes influenced the music and songwriting.

I actually started out not really knowing what the album was going to be about. Once I started getting ideas musically, you start trying some lyrics, and patterns started developing, but I honestly wasted a year writing material that didn't sound like us and was too progressive and just plain weird. So once I got back on track, things started coming together, and all the AI stuff was coming to the forefront in the news. As I looked more into it, the emotions I felt- both fascinated and terrified- me. That became the catalyst for the inspiration, and there were lots of questions, debates, and points of view to be explored.

I didn't end up writing a traditional concept album…more of an anthology as opposed to a linear path of a storyline like Dream Theater's ‘Scenes From a Memory’. Once the songs were solidifying, then I would do a number of rewrites to make it fit the theme and the energy it needed. There were a lot of rewrites both lyrically and musically as I got too much in my head about writing a second album. It was a challenge to evolve, not repeat, yet still sound familiar to our earlier material.

Additionally, we'd love for you to answer the interview questions below to give readers a deeper look into Visions of Morpheus, the creation of Dreaming In Binary, the collaboration with Nils K. Rue and Lex Legion, and the evolution of the project's sound.
