Behind The Scenes: Crescendium - Chandra (Official Video)

CRESCENDIUM presents the new music video “Chandra” as the next chapter in the feminine black metal saga of their new record “DRAC” (release 11/11/26). This surreal, cinematic adventure unfolds in the dark forests of Finland. It is a horror fairy tale about the transformation of a naive girl into a demonic entity. Filled with striking metaphors that demand a second or third look, and intense imagery centered around frontwoman Elena, the music video is not for the faint of heart. Elena accompanies the fable with the words: “Don’t run away from your shadows—instead, embrace them with open arms.” The concept album " DRAC " tells the story of a nature-loving woman with magical abilities who fights for the greater good. Yet a patriarchal society stigmatizes her and burns her alive. This brutal fairy tale comes to an end with her transformation into a demon: no longer part of society, but free.

The music video was shot in the dark forests of Jyväskylä in Finland with a small film crew of dedicated artists. In the style of a dark fantasy horror tale, the video shows the slow descent of an innocent woman (acted by Elena Cor Tauri) into madness. Throughout her traumatic journey, she meets three demons who attempt to corrupt her: the Demon of Deceit (acted by Taisa Kuki), the Demon of Obsession (Tomi Tikka), and the Demon of Violation (Nikke Kuki). The story ends with her triumph as a newborn demon, a powerful entity that has overcome trauma and is no longer part of the sick ways of humanity.

Finnish/Japanese video game creator Amos Sorri (Moya Horror) shed light on the production and refined the video by filming, editing, and adding stunning VFX effects. Filming for 5 days in the woods was a true challenge between rainy days and heavy thunderstorms. Yet, the crew managed to catch emotionally heavy takes, process advanced costume changes, and keep an overall positive attitude.

Rebellion and darkness speak from the heart of CRESCENDIUM —under the flagship of Mystic Metal, the project sails through the abysses of the human soul to guide it into the light. CRESCENDIUM is the project of frontwoman and composer Elena Cor Tauri and was founded in 2018. The project has toured alongside bands such as Napalm Death, Aephanemer and Ancst, appeared on regional television, and played shows all across Europe.

Erhöre die Stille.

“Chandra” Lyrics:

In misty lands beyond mirrors
Finding rhymes
To hark into silence
To flee from the spells
Between dark puzzles
In the fragments of a vexed storm
Binding locks built in yang venom
Do you see me now?

Invoking you to become one
I carried you for so long, Glass
Scars in these eyes and the words that you speak
Whispering my dreams to death and sleep
I heard within a gleam so bright
and lost was verity that can't be one
Whisper again and seek the sun.

Colorless red, slicing Prithvi open
Hexed spectrums
Hiding shadows behind silence
I heard within a gleam so bright
and lost was verity that can't be one
Whisper again and seek the sun.
Do you see me now?

Trage den Weltschmerz im Antlitz des Uhrwerks

Immerfort, ewiglich.
Ich erhöre deine Stille
Zwischen den Zeilen zu lesen
Ich fühle, ich finde.
Ich will das Leben wollen.
