Behind The Tracks: Octotanker - Electric Sheep (Single) (2026)

Electric Sheep is a perfect example of just how unpredictable music can be. You show up to rehearsal with one of Rush’s ’80s tracks looping in your head, planning to tap into Neil Peart’s signature groove, and end up with a song that features a Mastodon-inspired verse, a chorus echoing the melodic sensibilities of Paradise Lost, and a middle section that’s pure Black Sabbath worship, complete with a harmonic twist we jokingly referred to as the Megadeth trick.

Then there’s the title, which openly hints at Blade Runner, but the lyrics take things in a more spiritual direction, placing the song in a much less futuristic and, paradoxically, more down-to-earth context. But no spoilers.

Stoner, psychedelia, sludge, grunge, the ’80s, a touch of spirituality, androids, sheep. We’ve got a whole lot of influences running through us, but the greatest pleasure lies in giving them a shape of our own, something truly unique.

Enjoy the ride.
