Behind The Tracks: Taethen - Paradise For Fools (Single) (2026)
Paradise for Fools is an introduction to the existential journey the main character of Illusory Sensations goes through. It introduces both sonic and lyrical themes that run throughout the album, and while not being the first song on the record, is a good place to start and give listeners an introduction to the world of the album. When I started writing the song, I mostly came up with the riffs through a combination of noodling around on the guitar and writing down ideas I heard in my head. The song's themes concern the conflict between "ignorant bliss" and "knowing sorrow", where the main character is grappling with the idea of wanting to find out some greater purpose for their life, but simultaneously being worried that they won't end up being happy with what they end up finding in their upcoming journey. These different conflicts of the human mind are a recurring theme throughout the entire album, and were a source of inspiration for the lyrics and also for the composition.
