Interviews About Albums: Paralicyst - Destruction Of Sanity (2026)

In this new interview, we sat down with the American Death Metal band Paralicyst to ask questions about their album, "Destruction Of Sanity".

1. What can you say about this new album?

Mikey Murderz: This is a testament to bands that can pilot a few different sounds out to feel the fans and just jam what you want. Each song has its own flavor of death metal.

2. What is the meaning of the album name?

Mikey Murderz: The album name is a testament to our guitarist Ray Eversole mentioning how most bands play a few shows, and when it comes to recording and dedicating that time to production and tracking, they dont make it. During the mixing and mastering, it drove me CRAZY so many nuances and tempo changes; it was testing my "Sanity"

3. Who is the composer of the album?

Ray Eversole Lead/Rhythm Guitars.

4. If you had to pick one song, which one would you pick?

Ray Eversole: Conjure The Flames, insane tempo changes, cool riffage, old-school sound, and a killer Wah solo

5. Is there a special message in this album? If there is, what is it?

Nick Harris: No special message here, just straight death metal in a watered-down metal world.

6. Are there some lyrics that you'd love to share?

Mikey Murderz: "BRING ALL THE SHEEP FROM STABLE TO STREET LINE THEN ALL UP WHAT DIFFERENCE YOU SEE?" From the " Blood in My Eyes track 4. Not much individuality is flaunted anymore, to the point where the sheep dress and act the same but believe they are different.

7. Which inspirations have been important for this album? Like musically or friends, family, someone you'd love to thank specially?

G. Regulator: So, my personal inspirations on this album stem from some of my drum heroes/inspirations, predominantly: Nick Barker, Gene Hoglan, and Sean Reinert. Most importantly, my current inspirations are largely due to my bandmates, whom I'm fortunate enough to work with, on a mutual, creative level.
