Interviews: Swim The Current
1. Where did you get the idea for the band name? Did you plan it or came out just like that?
It was all Greg!
2. Why did you want to play this genre?
It's fun, lots of energy, and crowds love it!
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
I knew George and Greg and met Chris and Marcos as we were looking for a drummer and Lead Vocalist.
4. Each band member's favourite band?
Dream Theater
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
Everything I've ever listened to from a child until now. From Elton John to Meshuggah! Also my cousin Chris Hajian who's a Hollywood Film Composer. I've always heard music in my head for as far back as I can remember. If I couldn't get it out I'd go MAD!
6. Where was your last gig?
Silk Factory in New York
7. Where would you like to act?
Nashville!
8. Whom would you like to feature with?
Treaty Oak Revival, Austin Meade, Hardy
9. Whom not?
I never really got REM.
10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?
I still get a little nervous to this day. If you don't, you're not taking it seriously enough. A little anxiety can be a great motivator for being prepared.
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
I mostly come from a prog background. Dream Theater and Liquid Tension Experiment were huge for me. I learned to play Lap Steel because of David Gilmour and Steve Howe
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
Nothing really unusual. Most often it's a guitar pick or Set List.
13. What do you think of your fans?
They Rule! If not for them, I'd just be playing in my basement!
14. What do you think of our site?
Very Cool!
15. Something you'd like to add?
I don't see anything from Swim The Current. You should check those guys out!
