Track By Tracks: Dark Prism - Atrocity (2015)

1. Into The Darkness:

The mentality we had when approaching the writing for this song was an intro that prefaces the type of energy that is about to follow. It gives off the feeling as if you’re being consumed by darkness, just surrounded by it. Once you’re engulfed, you’re ready to hear what’s coming.

2. Lungs Collapse:

When we first started writing this song, it gave off a feeling of panic immediately. We understood it as someone running frantically away from danger. Based on the encompassing theme of the EP, social atrocities, we connected it to random, merciless violence.

3. Glimpse Of The End:

Part of our writing style is dynamics, but not necessarily from an audio perspective. This song is supposed to feel like the light at the end of the tunnel. Or rather maintaining that there is a light to begin with. It can be associated with the feeling of resurgence.

4. Conundrum:

When this song was written, loss was the main concept. There is a lot of space to signify the emptiness one feels during times loss. Although, the theme of resurgence is brought back to end it on a high note.

5. Witchstalker:

This song was about a very intense subject: domestic abuse. It is a topic that the band mutually feels intense about so this song discusses the intense mutual hatred of such actions.
