Interviews: Ü Blue

In this new occasion we have had the opportunity to interview the  Post-Hardcore/Rock band Ü Blue from USA. Check out this band and give them a like on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Sean: We just wanted something different from our old band name that stands out more and is more memorable.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

Sean: At the time of forming the band, our local scene was playing mostly hardcore and metal core. We wanted to do something to stand out.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Sean: No. it’s probably better this way, too. We’re able to put the music first now and as a result of the music, we became great friends.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Some of our favorites include:

Deftones, Dance Gavin Dance, Lower Definition, Vanna, Hail The Sun, Dance Gavin Dance, Stolas, Sound of Animals Fighting, Rx Bandits, From Indian Lakes, Animals As Leaders, Car Bomb, Delta Sleep, Sea in the Sky

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Sean: That answer is probably different for each member. I personally write to challenge myself to be more creative and better than i was before. Subject matter is usually based on things I’ve experienced or witnessed. Sometimes it’ll be a weird story i came up with.

6. Where was your last gig?

Boontunes in Boonton, New Jersy

7. Where would you like to act?

We’ll play anywhere we can get to if it’s an opportunity to get our name out there.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Bigger bands in our genre mostly. If we had all the power in the world to make this happen, we’d play with, Rx Bandits, Circa Survive, Hail The Sun, Dance Gavin Dance etc.

9. Whom not?

We don’t discriminate haha. We’ll play with anyone if it makes sense.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Sean: I did when i was younger and in my first band when i was 15. My advice is to just keep doing it. Not very often are peoples first performances their best or even good for that matter. If you suck, keep practicing, learn your weaknesses, where to improve and keep on performing. Nothing worth anything comes easy.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Our favorite bands stated above!

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Sean: There have been a few weird things. A guy tried to kiss me at one of our first shows with our current lineup.

James: No. He DID kiss you.

13. What do you think of your fans?

We love those cuties.

14. What do you think of our site?

It’s a great platform for bands to reach people that they might not have before. There’s great coverage on bands and artists of a variety of genres. We appreciate you having us and what you’re doing for the scene

15. Something to add?

Thank you for interviewing us!  Stay tuned for new songs this year.  Stay connected:
