Interviews: CROSSING ETERNITY

In this new occassion we have had the opportunity to interview the Metal/Rock  band CROSSING ETERNITY from Romania/Sweden. Check out the interview and this band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

It’s the title of the first song we recorded, which reflects our goal to build up a musical world that rises from our hopes and fears. We realized that Crossing Eternity might be a goal and a great name for a band.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

It somehow gathers the musical influences and esthetics from the last years of experience. We listen to a lot of music because being connected to reality is very important and eventually we came up with the Crossing Eternity style, which brings the inspiration from the “70s together with the nowadays trends and sounds. We’ve always played exactly what we felt.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Yes we have past together, good memories, few albums with other bands we played together in the past!

4. Each band member favourite band?

Oh, it’s very hard to pick one single favorite band, but our common discussions about music always brings up names like Kamelot, Cyhra, Myrath, Nightwish, Blackmore, Black Sabbath, Dream Theater or Leprous. Actually we lov’em all, every hard working musician deserves a round of applause.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

The world we live in, completed with the world we want to live in, the beauty of life, the curse of our nature. Every aspect of life can be transcended into a good song and magic depth.

6. Where was your last gig?

Actually, we always think about what’s to come, one concert is over, so the next one is fresh in our minds. Our next gig will be on the 16-th of august, opening for Kamelot.

7. Where would you like to act?

Our home is where a stage is. We are happy to fill every place we’re invited with our music. You name it, we’ll be there.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Again, making such a choice seems unjust. When you hit the road, you just enjoy every moment on stage and the best ones are those unexpected. We can happily share the stage with any metal band in the universe.

9. Whom not?

Why would we make a list with the names we don’t want to meet, as soon as our interest is to know as many as we can, in the spirit of our community and profession?  The fake artists are somewhere else, so let’s meet them all and then I’ll tell you if we choose something we dislike. Of course there a lot of rubbish, but what we want is finding the good ones, focusing on the right places and right people.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

No, we’re commando, no stage fright, just the permanent thrill of being on stage, interacting with people. Always never the same, but more enjoyable when you know what to do. Those who aspire should concentrate on the best they can deliver, focus, warm up, learn the music well and listen to their bandmate. Always keep connection to the audience and breathe correctly. If the audience frightens you, imagine them wearing something funny or get drunk and hit some karaoke.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

The sheer emotion and inspiration from the heavy band of the ‘70s and the fresh attitude and sound of the modern metal bands. We enjoy listening to a lot of stuff, old and new, it all comes very natural. We’re happy to be a part of it.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

There goes another book subject. Honestly, nothing bothering happened until now. We feel safe among them.

13. What do you think of your fans?

They are the reflection of what we are as a band, as artists. An honest bunch of people looking for more quality and joy. They love poetry and don’t believe in magic but counting on it. Special people, finding time for us.

14. What do you think of our site?

It’s one of the best informed and attractive platforms we ever interacted with all these years. You make a good selection of what’s good and worthy and show a lot of respect for musicians and fans in the same time. Keep it up and heavy!

15. Something add?

Thanks for having us and helping keep a good connection with the metal world! Let’s keep in touch!
