Behind The Artworks: Lords Of The Trident - Shadows From The Past (2018)

The front and inside covers of Shadows from the Past were created by Andreas Zafiratos (https://www.deviantart.com/albino-z). We’ve worked with him previously for the artwork on Frostburn and Plan of Attack. Both covers are inspired by the lyrics of the song “The Nameless Tomb”, which was the original working title of the album. The front cover depicts a solitary thief, paid to brave the traps of an ancient tomb in order to retrieve a magic sword. You see the entrance of the tomb (which contains references to all the previous Lords of the Trident albums, for those who look closely) and the Lords’ shield amulet which guides the way. Inside we see the thief making his way towards the eventual goal - the magic sword, levitating via some sort of flame trap.
