Interviews: Cosmic Ninja

In this new occassion we have had the opportunity to interview the  Rock band Cosmic Ninja from UK. Check out the interview and this band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

It just kinda happened like that, we wanted something that sounded cool and reflected our music. It's quite an unusual name but we think it's quite representative of our sound.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

Our sound is a vast
mixture of sub-genres from alternative and electronic music (such as dance, drum n bass, nu metal and synthpop) to create their our powerful and dancey sound.
We wanted to something that was super heavy but got you on the dancefloor! We are all quite expressive people and we wanted to produce something new and fresh that allows us to be who we want to be on stage. All round it's a happy mix for everyone!

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

TC, Jonny and Robin created the band from the start so they all new each other initially. We only met Ellie earlier this year when she auditioned to join but heard of her through other bands that she's worked with within Bristol.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Ellie - Bring Me The Horizon
Jonny - Rage Against The Machine
TC - Enter Shikari
Robin - Pendulum

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

As a band we want to portray a positive message through our music. We try and write about things that everyone can relate to and feel a connection with. Some of our songs are about putting the middle finger up to people who didn't believe in you and others are about picking yourself up off the ground and starting again when times are tough. We never would put music out there if not everyone is 110% happy with it. we want to put something out there that has meaning and a purpose.

6. Where was your last gig?

Wednesday 28th November at The Lanes, Bristol

7. Where would you like to play?

One day we would love to play Reading and Leeds, aiming high! Also being able to do what you love and travel around the world would be amazing and a dream for us!

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

We would love to play alongside Enter Shikari, Skindred and Twenty One Pilots one day. What a line up that would be!

9. Whom not?

There's not anyone that we wouldn't want to play with. We're up for playing with everyone and anyone.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

I think it mostly depends on the situation. If we were playing a small venue in Bristol not so much but if you chucked us in front of 2,000 people there would definitely be some nerves! I think we mostly get nervous when having a tight time constraint to set up gear in between bands as we have a lot that could potentially go wrong.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Twenty One Pilots

Pvris
The Prodigy
Pendulum
Chvrches

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

I don't think we've ever had super weird comments from fans or from shows. It's usually been quite positive, nothing that springs to mind!

13. What do you think of your fans?

Our fans are amazing. They have been there for us and our dream and are we eternally grateful for all their support so far. We feel very lucky to have such a strong fan base who like our music because it's us and not because it's trendy!

14. What do you think of our site?

It's an amazing and honest way for bands to be given a chance to share their music and talents. It's a fresh of fresh air that you are giving unsigned and independent artists somewhere to share their material. Keep doing you boo.

15. Something add?

We have literally just dropped our brand new single 'We Got Up' today! We are super proud of this so stream it and blare it as loud as you can! We are also releasing our self titled EP on 10th May with a hometown Bristol show at Mr Wolf's, it's something not too be missed. Lots of good things happening!

Hope this is okay and if you need anything else just let me know,
