Interviews: TESSITURA

In this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the  Trash Metal/Death Metal band TESSITURA from Canada. Check out the interview and follow the band on their  FACEBOOK PAGE. 

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that? 

"Tessitura" is a musical term that was discovered while during music classes. 

2. Why did you want to play this genre? 

 Metal has a very close place in all of our hearts and was an important part of our formative years. Starting a metal band was the obvious choice. Our specific style came naturally as we began showing our influences through our music.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

The founding members, Gord, Stephan & Leillyn, knew each other prior to forming the band but solidified their friendship once the band was formed. 

4. Each band member favorite band? 

Cyn: Opeth

Stephan: Amorphis 

Leillyn: Symphony X

Gord: Kiss 

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Musically, we are inspired by anything that we are listening to at that time. We all individually go through phases of listening to certain styles or bands, and that is reflected in our music.

6. Where was your last gig?

Calgary, Alberta at the Blind Beggar Pub 

7. Where would you like to act?

Saskatoon, Regina, Vancouver, Lethbridge, Kelowna.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Goatwhore, Skeletonwitch, Anvil, Warbringer, Revocation 

9. Whom not? 

We're open to sharing the stage with any of our metal brethren.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Luckily, stage fright has never really plagued this band. My best advice would be to just have a good time and be the band that you would want to see. Play TO the audience, not AT them.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Goatwhore, Skeletonwitch, Revocation, Death, Bloodbath, Lamb of God, Kreator.

12. What do you think of your fans?

We're very lucky to be a part of the Western Canadian Metal Scene, where the fans are intensely loyal.
