Interviews: The Vegan Cannibals

We have had the opportunity to interview the Metal band The Vegan Cannibals from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

The name came about when a friend of the creator of the band who was a very “evangelical vegan” was spouting off the virtues of not eating animals. I replied we are all “Cannibals here”, she retorted with a few naughty words at our behaviour. This gave rise to the name “the Vegan Cannibals”.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Why not? Is it a genre? We are just loud and proud and live on the side of the strange.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

In a sense yes and no. We are all characters from the creator’s mind. Our creator created us as part of a split personality trait to cope with an overactive mind.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Fennec: Is a real motorhead and L7 fan.

Fuzzy: likes all the Sesame Street Tunes.

Goldie: Is deaf and can’t hear anything. He claims to like thrash metal but really listens to the Jacksons.

TwoZo: likes Earth Wind & Fire and Bony M

Jerry: Is into Industrial noise, this is obvious due to him being a robot.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Food and Foolish behaviour

6. Where was your last gig?

We are the heaviest animated band in the world. We are all animated characters so in a sense we are all ways playing. Our venues are on your, phones, iPad, PCs and any where you read your media device.

7. Where would you like to act?

The Apollo comedy club 8. Whom would you like to feature with? Barbra Streisand

9. Whom not?

The Death Metal Cats. They leave cat litter everywhere and start naughty behaviour at 3.am

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Stage fright? No. We are all one person’s multiple personalities, we are all animated characters from imagination. We are all animated.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Gorillaz, we find them inspiring, animated, and not too serious. Spinal tap because of their comedy aspect. Bad news because of the cringe worthiness.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

To meet us in person. Not realising we are a totally online animated experience.

13. What do you think of your fans?

If they have a small bit if enjoyment, that is all that is important.

14. What do you think of our site?

Cool.

15. Something to add?

we base ourselves on not taking ourselves too seriously. Look at us, a Goldfish drummer in a mech suit, Robot bass player, Fuzzy Pink monster on guitars, and me a Fennec Fox from the deserts of Africa in a pink onesie. And one other thing we have a yellow robot who has no sense of timing.
