Interviews: Black Tarpoon

We have had the opportunity to interview the Hillibily Punk band Black Tarpoon from USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or come out just like that?

My brother actually came up with it, it was a a design he came up with for a shirt.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Honestly? The Goddamn Gallows. I opened up for them with my first band in 2009 and was blown away. We were gonna play something heavier but we ended leaning into the Roots sound more and more. The fact that we only had acoustic instruments probably had a push that way too.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

We're a family band, Tashia the Don is my Wife, Oatmeal is her brother and Billy Mo is my Dad. And Chichi and Scooby were good friends of ours before hand.

4. Each band member favourite band?

This is a tough one.

Chichi: Bad Religion

Tashia: the Beatles

Billy Mo: Govt Mule

Oatmeal: Black Eyed Vermillion

Scooby: Clutch

Jesse James: The Goddamn Gallows

Broadway or like a community Theater in Sandusky Ohio so I can stay humble ya know?

Tom Jones. Or Amigo the Devil. Or anyone else that does a good job with the song Delilah.

9. Whom not?

The US Bombs or Ted Nugent
