Interviews: Warrior Within

We have had the opportunity to interview the Thrash Metal band Warrior Within from  Australia. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or come out just like that? 

The band name Warrior Within represents the mastering of the powers within us all. The band name comes from seeing the world around us being so competitive & destructive. We feel that to survive this dog eat dog world that one needs to harness a mindset that allows the development of inner strength. Additionally, this is the inner strength we conjure when listening to Heavy Metal.

2. Why did you want to play this genre? 

Thrash has always been an integral part of metal for us. We love traditional metal, however Thrash has a more direct attack. That has always appealed to us.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed? 

Warrior Within was founded by brothers Tass & Toli. We met Craig our original drummer through an environmental conservation society Tass was working with. Scott (Vox) is Craig’s brother. We met Tom our new drummer from a studio we used to record Pagan Spirit & Last Blaze of the Phoenix.

4. Each band member favourite band? 

For Taso & Toli we would have to say we don’t have favorites, it depends on our mood. So we can only answer, Black Sabbath Dio Iron Maiden Candlemass Angel Witch Satan Sabbat Skyclad Meliah Rage Suicidal Tendencies Faith or Fear Nuclear Assault Exodus Megadeth Kreator Annihilator Death Angel Dark Angel Death Obituary The Exploited I better stop now. For Scott it is Pantera For Tom it is Nuclear Assault

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs? 

Life & the music we listen to.

6. Where was your last gig? 

King Lear’s Throne a couple of weeks ago.

7. Where would you like to act? 

Our aim is to develop a healthy fan base in Europe, UK & the USA. We have to say to play in Greece is a lifelong dream. To play in the land of our ethnic roots, ELLAS. That would be so soulfully satisfying & rewarding. We aim to book small tours starting in Greece every 2 years.

8. Whom would you like to feature with? 

We would love to play with mentors that we have been influenced by like, Kreator, Exodus, Annihilator, Suicidal Tendencies, Testament.

9. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Yes, definitely when we first started playing live at a young age at school, however, the stage freight melted away as soon as we started playing, the music takes over. Any beginners, just keep your focus on the music & keep eye contact with your band members.

11. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for? 

Thankfully nothing, so far so good.

12. What do you think of your fans? 

We are totally grateful for our fans, We couldn’t be here without them. The fans are what keep us going

13. What do you think of our site?

Admittedly we originally thought you were a site that only covered Core and metal genres. However, looking further we discovered you cover a broad range of metal styles. That is a great thing!!!!!
