Band Biographies: Provectus

Provectus is and Old School Black Metal band, founded in Vosselaar, Belgium in 2015. Rooted from the minds of Tempore Anomalia and Obitus, the band tends to revive the spirit of Old School Black Metal, distancing itself from the modern fusions and endless subgenres. They focus on creating quality 90’s black metal, cutting into a diverse range of lyrical themes. In its early stages of existence, there was no intention of being a live band, but this changed during the writing of the first songs. Roach (bass) joined the band at the end of 2016, making Provectus a three-piece. Before signing to Necktwister in 2021, they released one album: Existential Delusion (2018).

The album was recorded in their own rehearsal room in true black metal fashion, tending to keep it raw and true to themselves. Legion soundworks supported the band in this process and did the mixing and mastering of the album. Existential Delusion was released both digitally and in a cd-digipack version in February and April 2018.

Provectus plays a raw style of black metal, brutal, yet melancholic and not often fueled by sorrow. The band was inspired by early black metal pioneers, like early Immortal and Dissection. Humanity’s existential conditions and questions nurture the lyrical themes, merged with a multitude of philosophical excursions.

Their live performance tends to send chills down the listeners spine. This is an act that stands out at every metal party. Be sure to catch them live when you get the chance. Or book them for your event!
