Interviews: Harvest The Lost

This is a new interview with the Deathcore band Harvest The Lost from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on his FACEBOOK PAGE

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or came out just like that?

It's more or less a reference to the idea that society as a whole is "lost" the grim reaper will harvest them and humanity will start over.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

We’ve always been fans of deathcore and it’s a fun genre to play because there are so many opportunities to experiment with sounds that go outside the norm of the rules of music theory.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

We were somewhat acquainted because we knew the same people but otherwise didn’t talk much to each other. One day, we found out that we both were metalheads and horror geeks and it just sort of went from there. You could say the band started at the same time as our friendship.

4. Each band member's favorite band?

Tyler: Signs of the Swarm

Edwin: After the Burial

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

It's a combination of things we see in real life as well as horror themes and stories.

6. Where was your last gig?

We have not played any gigs. At the moment, we are strictly a studio project.

7. Where would you like to act?

No plans right now to do so.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Definitely any of the deathcore greats, ie Chelsea Grin, Suicide Silence, Lorna Shore

9. Who not?

Can’t really think of anyone we wouldn’t want to feature with.

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

While Harvest the Lost is not a performing act, we have experience performing live with other projects. We wouldn’t necessarily call it to stage fright but we definitely experience a healthy amount of nerves before a performance. The important thing to remember is that making music is supposed to be something to enjoy. There’s very little difference between having a jam session or band rehearsal vs actually playing a show. If the crowd sees that you’re truly having fun on stage, they will feed off that energy and give it back to you.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Definitely Slipknot, Chelsea Grin, Suicide Silence, After the Burial, we could go on forever!

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

We haven’t quite reached that level yet to receive any requests, strange or not.

13. What do you think of your fans?

Anyone that takes the time to listen to our music is a winner in our book.

14. What do you think of our site?

It’s awesome because it allows lesser-known bands to be placed in the spotlight. There are so many bands out there with incredible sounds that deserve an audience and this site appears to be committed to meeting that goal.

15. Something to add?

We appreciate any support for our music. Definitely follow us on Instagram to receive updates on any upcoming releases or even just to say hi!
