Interviews About Albums: Burn The Highway - Weapon X (2022)

In this new interview, we sat down with the Australian Death Metal/Metal band Burn The Highway to ask some questions about their new album "Weapon X"

1. What can you say about this new EP/CD?

Our new album Weapon X goes in all directions of style, from Rock, metal, punk, and pop. We don't stay with one formula of style, we like to change gears. In one moment we are a punk-pop band than a metal band, with no boundaries and no rules.

2. What is the meaning of the EP/CD name?

Weapon X is about wolverine the comic character. When I came up with the riff and played it to Kristian he said this is Weapon X. I didn't even know what that was, but now it's clear, Kristian writes all the lyrics and nailed the concept.

3. Which one is the composer of the CD/EP?

Both Kristian Capuozzolo and Rob Favotto write all the songs. Then when completed we send the files to American session Drummer Nate Barnes to lay down drums.

4. If you have to pick one song, which one would you pick?

Tatakai, this song sums up our hybrid style, it sounds like it's gonna be metal but then it overlays with pop punk. It's a tug o war of styles because Kristian and I have different background influences.

5. Is there a special message in this EP/CD? If there is what it is?

There's no special message, just the opening of portals of different topics like ancient Japan or Crossbones which is about pirates. We want to take the listener on a cinematic journey.

6. Are there some lyrics that you´d love to share?

Crossbones chorus " Packed chest break in getting loot with win-win flag proud guns loud we've arrived "

7. Which inspirations have been important for this album? Like musically or friends, family, someone you'd love to thank especially?

Inspiration would be Kristian's personal experience like almost 100, other songs Inspiration would be military history for "Front Toward Enemy ", "Tatakai " ancient Japan, and "Devil at the door " which is about countries taking over other nations which unfortunately is still currently happening, which shows we haven't learned from the past. " No points for second place " which is a live song.

8. Something to add?

Yes, our new film clip for "Crossbones" which is through a major production company called Catmari productions is coming out 8th of August. We spent really big on this film because we really love the song the band the vibe and want to showcase it to the world, and send out those positive vibes.
