Interviews About Albums: THE LA MAYBE - Dirty Damn Tricks (2022)

In this new interview, we sat down with the American Heavy Rock band The LA Maybe to ask some questions about their new album "Dirty Damn Tricks"

1. What can you say about Dirty Damn Tricks Deluxe Edition?

I think the fact that we wrote, recorded, mixed, mastered, promoted, and released an album in about 6 months after literally just getting the right group of bandmates together is pretty impressive. I’m proud of us for doing that. All of the bonus tracks were done entirely in-house as well.

2. What is the meaning of the Dirty Damn Tricks name?

The name came out of a joke a friend of the band made. He was poking fun at AC/DC song names and said those three words. We loved it and decided to immortalize it as the name of our debut album.
3. Which one is the composer of the Dirty Damn Tricks?
We write all of our own music!
4. If you had to pick one song, which one would you pick?
“The Long Road”. It was written for anyone who feels like they aren't where they want to be in life. For those feeling lost or out of place. For the dreamers who long to fly away from the mundane. Each verse signifies a vignette of a different type of struggle. We've more than likely all been one (or all) of the 4 characters at some point in our lives. More than anything, “The Long Road” symbolizes hope and the will to never give up on what you want out of life.
5. Is there a special message in Dirty Damn Tricks? If there is what it is?
Rock n’ roll is back.
6. Are there some lyrics that you'd love to share?
If you’re out there
Walking in the rain
Hear those whispers
Driving you insane
And you know
There’s time to change
But it’s a long road
From yesterday
If you’re out there
Walking all alone
And you’re needin’
Some time to call your own
And you know
It’s time to a change
But It’s a long road
Fly away
Take my dreams and make my escape
Cause if you only knew, the things that I’d do
To (fly away)
Oh I’m feelin’
It’s time for something new
I’ve been dealin’
In needles and spoons
And I don’t know
If I’ll make it home tonight
It’s a long road
I gotta
Fly away
Take my dreams and make my escape
Cause if you only knew, the things that I’d do
To (fly away)
I’ve been thinking
Gonna sit and rest my bones
Still dreaming
Of a face to call home
And I know
I’m going nowhere fast
It’s a long road
Such a long road, yeah
Fly away
Take my dreams and make my escape
Cause if you only knew, the things that I’d do
To
Fly away
On broken wings I'll find my way
Cause if you only knew
What I put myself through to
fly away
Oh to Fly away
to Fly away
7. Which inspirations have been important for Dirty Damn Tricks? Like musically or friends, family, someone you'd love to thank specially?
We were most inspired by the idea of putting our stamp on the New Wave of Classic Rock. We knew we had a collection of killer songs and we were just so motivated to get them out there. So we worked ultra hard, ultimately completing the entire album in under 6 months. We hope you’ll enjoy the result.
