Interviews: CEASELESS TORMENT

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Thrash Metal band, CEASELESS TORMENT from Finland. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or came out just like that?

Sebastian: I found it in some religious texts, then we decided to use it until we come up with a better name, but apparently it just stayed, or then we forgot to think about alternatives.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Sebastian: It was kind of clear that this was the thing we wanted. Only a few bands in Finland played old-school Thrash at the time we started. Everyone wanted to play that modern Death/Thrash.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Sebastian: No. Except Tuomo knew Mikko and suggested him when we were looking for a bass player.

4. Each band member's favorite band?

Sebastian: There are just too many to list them here.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Sebastian: Life.

6. Where was your last gig?

Tommi: It must have been a show in Imatra Finland before the plaque closed everything.

7. Where would you like to act?

Tommi: Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic, and Poland would be nice.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Tommi: We ́ve had nice tours with Evil Invaders and Nervosa. I would definitely do more shows and tours with them.

9. Whom not?

Tommi: Some metalcore band with neck tattoos and clean vocals in their songs. 

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

Tommi: I always get nervous before shows but when the adrenaline kicks in all the nervousness and fears disappear. For a musician who ́s playing his/hers/ not assuming anybody's gender first show, I recommend just rehearsing the songs so well that you can play them even while sleeping. When your mind panics your body remembers, muscle memory, etc.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Tommi: My musical taste is a little bit different than the other members of the band. I ́m a huge fan of the first and second wave of black metal (Venom, Celtic Frost, Bathory, Mayhem, Darkthrone, etc), these bands have been most inspiring for me. Sebastian and Mikko will shout SODOM and KREATOR in unison.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Tommi: A fan asked me to come to see his guns in his car, and I politely refused.

13. What do you think of your fans?

Tommi: Fans are the biggest thing that keeps us doing this.

14. What do you think of our site?

Tommi: Really nice content and pretty layout.
