Band Biographies: Xeno

Xeno is a progressive metal band from Middelburg, The Netherlands, that mixes extreme-sounding ingredients with genre-defying passages. Combined with inspirational lyrics drawn from an array of philosophical and personal subjects, Xeno creates a unique storytelling atmosphere to engulf and immerse the listener. The music itself is influenced by bands like Periphery, Tesseract, Opeth, Plini, and Porcupine Tree but also Haken, Leprous, and Lamb of God.

‘Sojourn’ came out in October 2020 during the pandemic. The album was released by Spanish label ‘Art Gates Records, and was received very well. Critics and listeners agreed this was one of the best progressive metal albums of the year: “If you are looking for something fresh in the genre of Progressive Metal, give XENO your time because you will not be disappointed!” – Metal Temple

Anyone who has seen Xeno live will agree that the band gives one hell of a show. With powerful vocals, riffs, instrumental mastery, and the stage energy to match, there is no denying the sheer force of Xeno on stage. This is only one of the many reasons that led to sharing the stage with bands like Voivod, Carach Angren, and Spoil Engine, to name a few.

The upcoming release, ‘Reconstruction’, will be released on November 16th, 2022 through Art Gates Records. On this EP Xeno revisited their first album, Atlas Construct (2016), and rewrote three songs in their new style as a tribute to their past.

Xeno is eager, ambitious and ready to show their musical muscles to the world.
